Chhattisgarh to educate children of migrant workers

Sunday, 31 May 2020 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

With the return of a large number of migrant workers to Chhattisgarh and now holed up in quarantine centres, the state's School Education Department has decided to admit their children in schools for regular education.

Principal Secretary (School Education) Dr Alok Shukla has issued a directive to all District Collectors in this connection.

The District Collectors have been told to get details including the names of the children, age, date of birth, gender, name of parents, which class the child wants to join, whether the parents will stay on in Chhattisgarh or return to their place of work, with or without their children.

The School Education Department will provide the software for uploading the details online. The aim is that no child is denied admission in school.
