Chhattisgarh’s identity is its biodiversity, and the government is making all efforts to protect both flora and fauna, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Friday.
He was virtually dedicating the seven new enclosures for Nilgai, black buck, Chousingha (four-horned antelope), Kothari (deer), hyena, jackal and fox at the Jungle Safari at Naya Raipur from his official residence-cum-office.
The Chief Minister said 37 enclosures will be built in the Jungle Safari, of which 11 were dedicated earlier and now seven are being opened. All the enclosures have natural environment suitable for the wild animals.
This is an important step to protect the environment and wild animals. It is also a centre of tourist attraction as it provides space to learn. People should take advantage of the facility, said the Chief Minister.
Forest Minister Mohammed Akbar said 19 more enclosures are to be made.
