An MBBS doctor posted in the Covid-19 ward of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, Chhattisgarh's biggest medical facility, has been booked on charges of sexually harassing and raping an Ayurvedic lady doctor.
According to DD Nagar Police Station In-charge Yogita Khaparde, the police lodged a FIR against Dipanshu Sahu, who is also pursuing post-graduation in medical studies, on the complaint of the 28-year-old lady doctor.
The SHO said a case of sexual harassment, rape and blackmail has been lodged against Sahu. The accused allegedly sexually harassed and raped the woman for two years after promising to marry her but did not.
Police are probing the case. The accused doctor will be questioned after his quarantine period ends, the SHO said.
