The State Government has constituted a Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Cabinet Sub-Committee to prepare a thorough plan and to take decisions on subjects related to fisheries development policy. The Minister for Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Lakhan Singh Yadav will be the Chairman of the sub-committee.
The Sub-Committee comprising 5 members includes Minister for Culture and Medical Education Vijayalaxmi Sadho, Minister for Urban Development and Housing Jaivardhan Singh, Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Kamleshwar Patel and Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Sachin Yadav. The Principal Secretary Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development has been appointed as secretary of the sub-committee. The Director of Fisheries will be the co-secretary of the sub-committee.
The Sub-Committee will consider validating the rights of fisheries and fishermen along with other important works relating to fisherman welfare and granting fisheries rights only to fishermen and tribal cooperative societies.
