After receiving 18 new positive cases in Garhwa district on Wednesday, the number of patients has increased to 47, out of which three patients have recovered and gone to their home. Now the active cases are 45. Garhwa Deputy Commissioner Harsh Mangla said that out of the 18 positive cases found yesterday, 17 came from Maharashtra and 1 came from Delhi. All were kept in government quarantine centers. He has since been shifted to Covid 19 Hospital, Meral.
Out of the 20 positive cases found before this, the 3rd sample of 16 people have been sent to the RIMS for investigation today. The third sample of 4 others whose second report came negative will be sent tomorrow. Further decision will be taken on their report. The DC further informed that in view of the increasing number of positive cases in the district, it has now been planned to take the capacity of 70 beds previously available at Covid Hospital, Meral to 350. A total of 130 beds of this capacity have been identified in the Garhwa subdivision and 220 beds in the Banshidhar Nagar subdivision. If there is a sudden increase in positive cases, then preparations are complete for 350 beds.
Apart from this, other buildings will also be identified and capacity will be increased to 500 beds. Health and police officials in the district have been closely monitored throughout the region and the administration has been prepared to fight this contagious disease.
All the infected people found in the district will be treated on a war footing in a prescribed manner, the DC added.
A total of 1945 migrant workers who came here by special arrangements of the government have been Screened by the health officials on Tuesday.
