JPCC intensify protest against farm Bill

Thursday, 24 September 2020 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Wednesday decided that it will intensify protest against the Agricultural Products Trade and Commerce Bill and Agricultural Assurance Agreement bill passed by the Central Government.

Addressing media persons here on Wednesday JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon said that the anti farmers draconian law will be written with black ink in the history of India. Congress workers will protest against this law against farmers and states in the entire State, he added.

JPCC Spokesperson Lal Kishorenath Shahdeo informed that JPCC In-Charge RPN Singh will hold an online press conference on September 24.  "The party will hold a protest near Raj Bhawan against the draconian Act on September, 28 in which almost all senior officials of the party will be present and on October, 28 the party will protest at all district headquarters of the State," he added.

A meeting of senior officials of JPCC was convened on Wednesday at the Congress Bhavan to discuss the issue and it was decided that the party will intensify protest against the bill across the State.

"The farmers fear that the minimum support price based procurement system will end and exploitation by private companies will increase. The strategy of statewide programs will be decided after the monsoon session. The bill will be opposed in the same way as the Central Government tried to tamper with the Land Acquisition Act," said Oraon.

Attacking the Central Government, the JPCC Chief said that the law has been made in accordance with the big industrialists, who wish to dominate the Indian food and agriculture business, which will undermine the bargaining power of farmers.

JPCC Spokespersons, Alok Dubey, Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo and Rajesh Gupta were also present in the meeting.

Meanwhile, a delegation of teachers affected by the decision of Jharkhand High Court to cancel the teachers' appointment process, Ranchi, met JPCC Chief Rameshwar Oraon.

Oraon assured them that the Government is working for the welfare of them. He said that in this regard, he will also talk to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and it will be tried that their job does not end.
