Kejriwal Govt lying about virus management: Gupta

Thursday, 04 June 2020 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

nAt times when Delhi Government has claimed to be four steps ahead in its preparedness to tackle Covid -19, Delhi BJP president Adesh Kumar Gupta said that the Delhi Government has been continuously lying about its shortcomings and mismanagement in the health sector and from time to time, with a new lie, it has been veiled.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched an App - ‘Delhi Corona App’ to bridge the gap between patients and hospitals by providing beds, ICU and ventilator details of hospitals, Gupta said that app launched by Delhi government is revealing the truth.

Hitting out at Aam Aadmi Party supremo Kejriwal, Gupta said AAP government launched an app which gives information about the availability of beds in hospitals, stating that 100 percent beds are available in 7 hospitals. “A few hours later, a reality check revealed that 4 out of 7 hospitals included in the app are not admitting Covid-19 patients, while the remaining three hospitals reported being full of beds.” “Even during the time of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Kejriwal government has increased the pain of the people of Delhi by lying about death statistics, testing and now the availability of beds in hospitals,” Gupta alleged.

He said, “Delhi Government not worked for the interests of the workers, on the contrary, they were forced to migrate by depriving them of food and ration.”

Citing migrants’ plight, the BJP leader said, “The workers who remained here are also in miserable condition. About 6 thousand laborers working in Azadpur Mandi have also become helpless”.

The Delhi High Court sought an answer from the Kejriwal government on the petition filed for help for the laborers, but the Delhi government's lawyer could not give any detailed information on the arrangement of food for the laborers, which clearly shows that the Kejriwal government's step-motherly behaviour with the laborers. The Delhi High Court has also ordered the Kejriwal government to set up hunger relief centers for the laborers, so that food can be provided both times. I also urge the Delhi government to make arrangements for food for the laborers of Azadpur Mandi.”
