The condition of ailing and jailed former Bihar Chief Minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav is stable and normal. Yadav is serving jail term for the past three years.

Yadav is serving jail term after being convicted in multi-crore fodder scam case and admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for severe problems in kidney and lungs. Dr Umesh Prasad who is treating Yadav informed that Covid-19 cases worries him but his health condition is normal and stable and all organs are functioning normally.

“Yadav’s blood pressure and sugar is normal. Problems in the kidney and infection in lungs are also under control. He is already not taking non-vegetarian foods due to the ongoing holy month of Sawan. We advised him not to hold the meeting because positive cases of Covid-19 are increasing rapidly and he himself is avoiding meeting people due to this,” said Prasad.

The State RJD Chief, Abhay Singh informed that due to increasing cases of Covid-19, Yadav is not meeting with people. According to the jail manual, Saturday is fixed for meeting with Yadav as he is allowed to meet people only one day in a week according to the manual.

Ever since Jharkhand has seen a rise in Corona virus cases in the last one week, the State Government headed by Hemant Soren is mulling over a proposal to allow parole to incarcerated Lalu Prasad, who is serving a jail sentence in Ranchi.

Just a couple of days earlier, son of Lalu Yadav and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav announced that his father will soon be released on parole. Junior Yadav recently visited the State Capital to greet his father on his 73rd birth anniversary. During his visit he also met Chief Minister, Hemant Soren and Agriculture Minister, Badal.

It may be mentioned that Bihar Assembly election will be held in the last of the year. The term of the Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar is ending in the last of the year.
