The State Government has appointed 1994-batch IFS officer Dr K Murugesan as Member Secretary, Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB).
Earlier to this new assignment, Dr Murugesan was serving as Director, Environment and Special Secretary, Forest and Environment Department. He has been engaged in preparation of Climate Change Action Plan 2021-30.
Dr Murugesan managed a wildlife sanctuary for four long years for which he has earned a lot of appreciation. He had also served the Indian Institute of Wood Science and Technology in Bengaluru from 2010 to 2017.
He did his PhD in Entomology with Specialisation Insecticide Toxicology from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Dr Murugesan is expected to manage OSPCB affairs in an efficient manner.
