SAD postpones all programs for 15 days due to corona conditions

A day after Punjab Government imposed a complete ban on all public gatherings, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday announced to postpone party’s all political programs for next 15 days “keeping in view emerging coronavirus situation”.

Even as the party’s youth wing president Parmbans Singh Romana has accused the Congress Government of trying to “suppress the Opposition’s voice” in the garb of corona guidelines, the SAD’s senior vice president and spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said that the decision has been taken “keeping in view health of the public and party workers and in accordance with the advice of the doctors and health department”.

Cheema said that all the party workers have been informed about the decision and party has clearly directed that keeping in view health of all.

No political program will be organised during next 15 days and no meeting at head officer and dharna or protests will take place at district level.
