As part of “Seva Saptah” (service week from September 14 to 20) being celebrated country wide by the party on the eve of 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP’s Ganjam unit had organised a social welfare programmes across the district to mark the event with great enthusiasm, said former party district president Kanhu Charan Pati here.
The party organised massive plantation drives and conducted free health camps in different wards of the silk city to provide free health consultations and medicines to poor patients in which hundreds of youth leaders of the party and the local public joined, said party district president Bibhuti Bhushan Jena. A two-day service camp was held at Gajapati Nagar here on Friday and Saturday which were attended by two senior leaders of the party KC Pati and BB Jena.
With the help of MKCG Medical College Hospital Blood Collection Mobile Van, hundreds of local BJP workers, local youths and volunteers donated their blood for the patients.The blood camps were organised at Brahmapur, Chikiti, Patrapur, Chhatrapur and Mohuda and several other places at which over 200 units of blood were collected during last two days.
