Tana Bhagats end protest on CM’s assurance

Flag bearers of Gandhian philosophy, Tana Bhagats of Jharkhand, today ended their agitation on Railway tracks near Tori Railway Station in Latehar district after 55 hours on the assurance of the Chief Minister that their issues will be legitimately resolved by the State government. A delegation of Tana Bhagats met the CM at his residence on Saturday on the CM’s invitation.

The delegation submitted a memorandum to the CM regarding their demands and problems. In the course of the talks, Soren said that the State government will soon take a legal decision on various demands of the Tana Bhagat community. He told the delegation that this government is their government. “The Tana Bhagat community is the heritage of the State. The government is committed to the all-round development of Tana Bhagats. No infringement will be allowed on your rights. The state government will not only solve your problems but will take necessary steps for the all-round development of this community,” he said.

The CM told the delegation that soon the State Government will launch the Mukhyamantri Pashudhan Yojana. People will undertake animal husbandry by forming a federation under the Chief Minister Livestock Scheme. The state government is committed to financially strengthen the people. The government is constantly thinking deeply on how to create more and more employment in the state. Several programs are being considered for employment generation.

The Chief Minister said that the state residents should get full benefit of the natural wealth of Jharkhand. “This is the priority of the government. No one else can misuse the State's wealth; it will be taken care of. The coal of Jharkhand is illuminating the country and the world, then how can our state remain in darkness? We should get the full share of our rights and rights. In the mineral mining of the State, the government is paying special attention to ensure that the ryyats get compensation in lieu of land and ensure jobs,” said the CM.

The CM said, “Your demands and problems will be resolved after the upcoming Assembly session. The government will do the work of connecting those children of Tana Bhagat community who have passed out from Raksha Shakti University. The government will work on arranging hostels etc for the education of your children. The Tana Bhagat community belonged to his own family. It is the duty of the present government to bring the door of development to you,” said he, directing the concerned officials by phone to solve the problems of Tana Bhagat community.

Various demands were made by the Tana Bhagat community including grant of land lease, waiving of rent, strict enforcement of CNT Act, employment of children of Tana Bhagat community with employment.

Latehar MLA Baidyanath Ram played an important role in getting the delegation to hold talks with the CM. He apprised the CM of various problems of the Tana Bhagat community.
