After scrutiny of nominations held on Saturday, nine candidates belonging to different political parties, including independents, are found to be in the valid candidate’s list for the Tirtol by-poll fray.
The scrutiny was held at the Returning Officer-cum-ADM office here in presence of Poll Observer P Rajendra Chollen, some candidates and representatives of other candidates.
Candidates whose nomination papers were declared lawful include Bijaya Shankar Das (BJD), Rajkishor Behera (BJP), Himansu Bhusan Mallick (Congress), Bijaya Kumar Bhoi (CPI) and five independent candidates, Arjuna Charan Behera, Golap Manjari Bhoi, Rabindra Nath Sethy, Ramesh Chandra Mallick and Sachitra Mallick.
