Uttar Pradesh created history once again by testing over 1.15 lakh samples for coronavirus infection on Thursday. With this the total number of tests done in the state crossed 23 lakh.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said in Lucknow on Friday that a record 1,15,618 tests were done on Thursday, which took the total tests tally to 23,25,428 till date.
Of the tests done on Thursday, 3358 tests were of five-sample pools and 302 of 10-sample pools. In the former, 531 were found positive while in the latter, 30 were found positive.
He said that there were 34,968 active cases in the state while the number of recovered patients stood at 48,663, including 1,860 people discharged from hospital on Friday. There are 34,973 people in isolation and 2584 in quarantine facilities.
At present around 2.04 lakh Health department teams covered 1.47 crore houses to screen over 7.44 crore people in 40,823 areas.
