The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai students Venkat Ragavan and Tarun Hariharan from School of Computer Science and Engineering, Yogeeshwar S, Vishwath Kumar BS from School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering emerged as one of the finalists in the first virtual edition of Imagine Cup organised by Microsoft.
Despite its 353 team entries and over 10,000 individual entries across India the VIT Team Intelli-Sense proved its mettle in this competitive event. This event of World champions of Imagine Cup 2021 awards a prize money of $75,000 and a mentorship opportunity with Microsoft.
Microsoft Imagine Cup is a global competition designed to empower students to apply artificial intelligence and other technologies to solve some of the world's most critical social and sustainability problems. In this year 2021 India edition, students across the country competed to solve global challenges across four categories: Earth, Education, Health, and Lifestyle. The winning Team Intelli-Sense focused on assistive technology for people with low vision.
Microsoft and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) jointly organised this great nation-wide event and it had in its noteworthy panel Anant Maheshwari, President, Microsoft India, Pulkit Jain, Co-founder and Product Head of Vedantu and Dr Manish Kumar, CEO and MD, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
