Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Narayan Rane on Thursday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the planting of explosive-laden SUV near Industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s, “mysterious death” of businessman Mansukh Hiren and the arrest of police officer Sachin Vaze in connection with the two cases.
Talking to media persons here, Rane said: “The recent events, including the arrest of Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze and the subsequent transfer of Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh have exposed the MVA government”.
“The law and order has collapsed in the state. Uddhav Thackeray must resign as Chief Minister. I feel that he is to be blamed for the reinstatement of Sachin Vaze in the police force. Given the police officer’s past record, the charges he faces including his alleged involvement in the planting of SUV near Ambani’s residence and subsequent murder Mansukh Hiran and others, the chief minister must own up moral responsibility and resign,” Rane said.
