Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta on Tuesday alleged that he was detained by the Haryana and Delhi Police along with party leaders on Tuesday after they staged a protest against the “illegal” evacuation of the residents of Khorigaon village.
Gupta said that the BJP Government of Haryana ordered to evacuate Khorigaon village which is home of more than one lakh people.
"Those lives here are very poor and the AAP opposes the illegal detention of our leader by the Haryana and Delhi and demands immediate release," he said.
“These daily wagers and labourers bought lands in this village after a long financial battle. Neither the Haryana Government nor the central Government has done anything to rehabilitate these people,” he added.
