C’garh Women Commission disposes of 346 cases

The Chhattisgarh State Women Commission said Wednesday that it has  disposed of 346 of 1,068 cases in 55 public hearings in 25 districts between August 2020 to March 2021.

A total of 21 public hearings were held in Raipur district alone in which 83 of 409 cases were dealt with, Commission Chairperson Dr Kiranmayi Nayak told reporters.

A total of 47 of 104 cases in Durg and 40 of 106 cases in Bilaspur were also disposed of besides one case each in 22 districts, she added.

Sukma and Bijapur districts had zero complaints while Bemetara had only five or six complaints, she said.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has launched the State Women Commission’s WhatsApp Call Centre for women to send their  complaints or suggestions through text or voice message.
