Congress' women wing flays Modi govt

Thursday, 17 June 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The women's wing of the Congress in Chhattisgarh on Wednesday released a report card of what it said was seven years of misrule of the Narendra Modi government.

Addressing a press conference here, state women Congress chief Phoolodevi Netam said inflation is at a record peak and the Modi government is to blame for the rise in prices of all essential commodities.

The increase in price of edible oil has badly hampered the household budget, she said.

The women’s wing will organize state-level virtual sit-ins on June 20 to protest against the price hike, she added.

Congress Rajya Sabha member Chhaya Verma said the much hyped Ujjwala scheme has proved to be a flop as people are unable to refill their gas cylinders due to high cost.

Congress MP from Janjgir Champa Jyotsana Mahant said it defied logic that prices of petrol and diesel have been hiked when the price of crude oil is low in the international market.
