For dissemination of information to the farmers, Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutes and Government Departments have developed a portal, mobile apps and call centres. Social media like Facebook and Whatsapp are getting popular with the farmers. ICT has become so important for the university that we have to make separate budget provision for development and maintenance of infrastructure and services. He said Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi has adopted ICT in a big way. Besides IT infrastructure, the university has developed smart classroom and virtual classroom.
