The villages are agog with the spirit of panchayat election and to save masses from coronavirus infection, fogging and sanitisation has started in villages to protect people from the second wave of infection of the deadly virus.
The cleanliness drive is being carried out under the supervision of the officials of the Panchayati Raj Department.
The drains of villages are being cleaned. Garbage is being removed and fogging is being done in villages so that people remain protected from coronavirus infection.
A senior official said that the chief minister believes that sanitisation could control spread of dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis and other infectious diseases in general.
He said under this decision of the chief minister taken on April 9, Additional Chief Secretary (Panchayati Raj) Manoj Kumar Singh directed all the district magistrates and director, panchayati raj of the state to carry out special sanitation campaign at the state level for the prevention of coronavirus and other vector-borne diseases.
According to this order, on Saturday, 82,052 personnel sanitised 62,291 revenue villages, while on April 11, over 72,768 personnel in 59,559 revenue villages cleaned the drains. Fogging and other sanitisation work was also carried out.
On April 13, 81,356 people sanitised 59,468 revenue villages.
