Crime Branch has nabbed four persons involved in black marketing of Remdesivir injection and recovered 4 injections and Rs 24,000 cash from their possession on Sunday.
Police said that it had acting on a tip-off about the black marketing of Remdesivir injection
Four persons were nabbed by the police after receiving information that they were carrying Remdesivir injection at Islami Shahjehanabad area. The nabbed were identified as Shami Khan(30), Akhlaq Khan (24), Dr. Ehsan Khan(22) and Noman Khan(30).
Initially, when the four were asked regarding the injection they failed to provide any details of patients which were prescribed by doctors for Remdesivir injection. The miscreants tried to escape but they were chased by the police.
Police said that the details of procurement and delivery of the injections would be searched in the further investigation. After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 269 and 270 of the IPC, sections 53 and 57 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, sections 5 and 13 MP Drug Control Act, Section 3 Epidemic Act, sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act.
During interrogation, the accused told that they have purchased Remdesvir Injection from Noman Khan, resident of Shahjahanabad, for an amount of Rs 7,000. The people of whom they sell injections with the intention of making a profit by selling needy corona patients for Rs 12,000 and Rs 18,000.
