Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was informed that the HDFC Bank will install four oxygen plants in Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Bhadohi and Lucknow to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh under its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme called Parivartan.
Akhilesh Kumar Roy, Branch Banking Head of HDFC Bank, led a delegation to meet and apprise the chief minister about the bank’s different initiatives, including setting up of oxygen plants under Parivartan scheme in the state.
The oxygen plants will make hospitals self-sufficient in handling critical cases requiring medical oxygen support and eliminate dependence on cryogenic tankers to transport oxygen from far off places.
Roy said that the bank would spend Rs 3 crore to install the plants in the four designated cities.
“HDFC Bank is committed to nation-building. In its endeavour to support the government and Covid Warriors in this pandemic, the bank has taken this initiative. The bank is conscious about the hardships people face particularly during these times and has helped all sections of society under its Parivartan programme. Apart from providing scholarships to students impacted by COVID-19 and training youth, farmers and women in different vocations, the HDFC Bank has now extended its humble contribution to strengthen Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathji’s preparedness for a possible third wave of COVID-19,” he said.
