The five-day 15th Rang Mahotsav, Hindi play ‘Khaderugunj Ka Romantic Drama’ was presented on Sunday.

The play Khaderugunj ka Romantic Drama was performed by the artists of Saghan Society at Shaheed Bhavan. The play was written by Durgesh Singh and was directed by Vishal Acharya.

The story of the play is woven around Bulla Master, a director of Ramlila. He has performed Ramlila in the village for the last 10 years and considers Ram as his role model. He wants to do a social drama, depicting social events and arrangements. But the village head Sirpat who is influenced by urban culture as well, is morally and characteristically corrupt. He issues a decree that there will no longer Ramlila be held in the village. Rather, a romantic drama should be written and be performed.

The Bulla Master does not consider to stage or perform such a play as he feels its not good for the village and society. So he talks with his friends about his problem and tells them that a girl will also be required for a romantic drama.

 So he decides to team up with friends and decides that the daughter of the head Nagina will play the female character in the play.  In this case, the head of the village will not agree to let her perform a romantic drama and will refuse to stage such a drama.

But on the contrary, the village head feels that this will give him an advantage in the election. The rehearsal of the play begins in which Khisu Pathakhabaz is made a hero but during the rehearsal of the play, Nagina and Khisu fall in love with each other and both run away before the show.

The panchayat sits in which the Bulla Master is held responsible for this incident and orders to drive him out of the village. When Bulla goes out of the village, Shri Ram comes in his dream and tells him to write the script of Ramlila and start Ramlila again by learning the virtues of the society's best King Ram and how to live every person in his life, so that an ideal society is established in the world.

After which Bulla makes a strong comeback in that village and saves the culture and tradition of the village.
