Under Gamak series Kalidas Sanskrit Academy, Ujjain broadcasted the 'Lecture' on remembrance of freedom fighters on Sunday. The lecture was addressed by Abhay Marathe, Ujjain on Department's YouTube channel and Facebook Live.
Marathe in his lecture 'Unmarked Memoirs of Freedom Fighters', discussed about the revolutionaries whose sacrifice did not find a place in history.
Abhay Marathe while discussing about one such revolutionary Vaman Narayan Joshi said that at that time the Collector of Nashik, the British murderer of a Dalit farmer Ramchandra Mali, William, without any punishment, was released without punishment and left behind Veer Savarkar.
Jackson banned the poems written on patriotism by elder brother Ganesh Damodar Savarkar and sentenced him to life imprisonment and he used to put those who chanted Vande Mataram in jail. Along with this, the national preacher Tambe Shastri was jailed.
Hurt by these events, Vaman Narayan Joshi "Daji" along with his revolutionary companions Shankar Soman, Anant Laxman Kanhere, Vinayak Deshpande and Krishna Karve planned to kill Jackson and Anant Laxman Kanhere killed Jackson on December 21, 1906.
Marathe talked about many other such revolutionary heroes who are not mentioned in the history.
Abhay Marathe of Ujjain has completed his B.Sc from Vikram University Ujjain. and L.L.B. Passed.
He is also working as a social worker, and has donated blood 103 times so far. He has organized more than five hundred blood donation camps and is also doing the work of giving inspiration for eye donation and body donation.
Marathe has given many lectures on research work on the revolutionaries of Indian independence movement, in schools, colleges and public places on Indian revolutionaries.
Abhay has tried to give information about more than 830 revolutionaries in his book "O! Utho Krantiveeron".
