MCG to start web portal for public grievance

Tuesday, 29 June 2021 | Staff Reporter | Gurugram

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) is soon going to start an online portal for redressal of complaints and to get time to meet the Municipal Commissioner. The name of this portal has been proposed by the Commissioner as ‘MCG Samadhan.com’.

In this regard, MCG commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja held a meeting with the IT Wing official on Monday and gave necessary guidelines and suggestions for preparing the portal.

This portal is being prepared by the IT wing of the civic body and it will be accessible to the general public soon after it is finalised. It was told in the meeting that after the introduction of this system, any citizen will be able to fix his appointment with the corporation Commissioner through an online medium.

“The citizen will have to fill the column of his name, address, mobile number, e-mail and write the reason for the meeting. The time of meeting with the Commissioner will be fixed through the portal and the complaint received will be forwarded to the concerned officer. Category wise, 3, 5 and 7 days will be fixed for resolution of the complaint. If the complaint is not resolved within the stipulated time, the complaint will go to the pending section,” an MCG spokesperson said. The special feature of this portal will be that the complaint will be sent directly to the concerned officer resolving the grievance and a copy of it will be forwarded to the monitoring officer.

For example, if the complaint is related to property tax, it will be directly forwarded by the Corporation Commissioner to the concerned zonal taxation. This will end the middle chain and it will be the responsibility of the concerned officer to send a report on the action taken after resolving the complaint in the stipulated time.

Apart from this, the records of those who meet the Municipal Commissioner will also be maintained. “The development works being carried out by the MCG in the corporation area will be monitored by the Municipal Commissioner himself. An online dashboard will be prepared for this,” the spokesperson said.
