Thursday, 14 October 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh bid farewell to monsoon on Wednesday.H.P. Chandra, weather scientist at the Raipur centre of the India Meteorological Department, said the monsoon had withdrawn completely from the state.

“A sufficient 98 percent rainfall was witnessed by the state and it was more than satisfactory to the farmers,” he said.

“The state recorded 1,100 mm rainfall as against 1,140 average,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.

Southern and Northern Chhattisgarh received surplus rainfall. The rains triggered widespread floods for four-five days in September, leading to largescale damage to life and property.
