In the bid to ensure that hospitals and other healthcare institutions do not become hotspots, during the second wave of coronavirus, the State Government on Tuesday issued new guidelines.

In case positive cases are detected in any section of a hospital, other patients in the room must be shifted to another room temporarily. Instructions have been issued to ensure that the room is sanitised and can be reused after closing down for 24 hours. No life-saving procedure, treatment should be denied or deferred on the ground of suspicion of Covid infection or non-availability of test report. The hospital would undertake such treatment taking all universal precaution as per guidelines.

The Government has issued clear instructions to the State-run and private hospitals to strictly adhere to the Infection Prevention  and Control guidelines.
