In yet another achievementin quick succession, Odisha has emerged as the top performer in the Accessibility Index for land records for the year 2020-21. The State has also ranked three in the Land Record and Services Index.
As per a report published by the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), a New Delhi-based think tank on economics, Odisha has secured 86.54 marks out of 100 designated in Accessibility Index for various components like ease of access, comprehensive information, design and navigation and help in all websites of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
The land record websites of 31 States and Union Territories were taken into consideration by the NCAER for evaluation of accessibility. Odisha emerged as the top performer followed by West Bengal and Karnataka.
Odisha has also secured rank 3 in the Land Record and Services Index by scoring 77.2 marks out of 100. Madhya Pradesh, the top performer, is only three points ahead of Odisha, which has improved 14.4% since last year in this particular index.
In the Land Record and Services index, Odisha is the top performer in Extent of Digitised Textual Records and in Extent of Digitisation of spatial Records as the State has digitised 100% of its records in both textual and spatial records. Notably, out of four sensitivity analyses conducted by the NCAER for N-LRSI, Odisha has been placed as the second best performer in three sensitivity analyses.
