The foundation stone of a Laxminarayan Temple was laid by Saha Charitable Trust chairman Santh Jeevan Baba at the 7th Battalion premises here on October 20 on the auspicious occasion of Kumar Purnima.
Swami Pranaswarupananda Ji Maharaj of Puba Ashram, who was present, explained the need of such a temple. Prominent among others who were present include Manish Khandelwal of Maruwadi Yuva Mancha, Kishan Khandelwal, industrialist Kishor Agarwal, Bikram Betal and Prakash Betal from Terapanth Jain Samaj, 7th Battalion chief DCP (Armed) Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, ACP, SK Dharua, ACP Hemanta Kumar Das, ACP Utkal Kumar Aich, Subedars DK Mahapatra and RK Raul, Pooja Committee secretary Binod Bala and treasurer Susanta Pradhan.
A plantation programme was undertaken by Santh Jiveen Baba in collaboration with the 7th Battalion. In this connection, it is pertinent to mention here that, Santha Jiveen Baba has been instrumental in planting over 8,000 fruit trees in the 7th Battalion campus in his attempt to make the environment of Odisha green. Jiveen Baba has already planted over two lakh trees across Odisha so far.
