Thursday, 25 November 2021 | M FAIYAZ AHMAD | DALTONGANJ

Take the jab where you are and no matter what you are doing is the mantra of the health team in Latehar.

A vegetable grower busy watering his potato cultivation in his field at Hoorilong under the Barwadeeh block of Latehar district  identified as Shyam Dayal Singh had a few strange visitors in his field today asking him if he has taken his Covid 19 vaccine or not.

Shyam Dayal Singh was honest enough to say none of the two doses he has taken so far and wanted to be spared for the day today as he said he is watering his potato cultivation.

The team that visited him, comprising community health officer Abha Kumari of Hehegara, ANM Sunina Kujur and Rohit, asked him to take the vaccine doing his work but Shyam Dayal Singh quipped that if he gets  down with fever then who would look after his cultivation.

Rohit said he was assured of no such onset of the fever but if he has had a bout of fever then he was advised to take a tablet of the PCM which is paracetamol.

Shyam was given two tablets of 500 mg PCM.

He got ready and took the vaccine right on the bund of his upcoming vegetable field today. He kept the PCM tablets with him too DC Latehar Abu Imran said he has asked the civil surgeon Haren Chandra Mahto and his teams to locate such unvaccinated eligibles and with their consent vaccinate them in what condition they are without asking them to come to the health centre etc.

Ved Prakash, a health official in Latehar district said our teams are vaccinating people across the railway lines, in the auto rickshaws, paddy fields, jungles etc and the response is good.
