Women empowerment-cum-felicitation prog for SHG members organised by SBI

For empowerment and benefit of SHGs, State Bank of India has organised a Women Empowerment cum felicitation programme for SHG members at Badarwas block of Shivpuri District on February 25, 2021.

Around 250 women members of over 50 SHG groups from different villages of Badarwas and Kolaras block were present in the programme. Programme was chaired by Chief General Manager of Bhopal Circle Umesh Kumar Pandey, Deputy General Manager (B&O) Gwalior, Regional Manager (FIMM), Guna, Regional Manager, R&DB, Guna and other officials were also present on the occasion.

In Badarwas block, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) has formed around 1102 SHGs and out of that 303 have been credit linked so far by different banks.

State Bank of India’s Badarwas branch alone has provided credit to 53 SHG covering around 580 beneficiaries during current financial year. These SHGs are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, floriculture, kirana shops, jacket, soap, sanitary napkin, mask preparation under brand name of “Aajeevika”. Three SHG members narrated stories of struggle and success which were heart touching and encouraging.

The Bank Officials including Chief General Manager, re-affirmed SBI’s commitment for women empowerment through SHG and assured continuous help for empowerment of women through such schemes.
