The youth, Rajkishore Pradhan, who had been burnt alive at Kadalimunda village under the Handapa police limits in Angul district on Tuesday, was killed by his family members over his repeated misbehaviour after liquor consumption, it was learnt on Wednesday.
Police have detained his mother Basanti Pradhan and elder brother Subash Pradhan in this connection for questioning.
According to reports, Rajkishore (23) used to create ruckus in the house after consuming liquor on a regular basis. Infuriated over his inebriated conduct, his family members poured petrol on him and set him on fire.
He sustained 80 per cent burn injuries and was taken to the nearby Athmallik Hospital, where a doctor declared him brought dead.
