Finance doyen Kapil Bagadia, former CFO of Ernst and Young , India, has quit the firm after a long stint of 20 years. He wanted to get into his own technology and transformation consultancy and has, therefore, assumed the role of Country Managing Partner for PV Advisory, which has already been active in this space.
An established professional, a CA and an Insolvency professional, having an experience of over 25 years, Kapil spent most of his time with EY Finance and has been a core member of EY’s growth journey. Apart from handling regular finance affairs, he has driven various strategic projects including restructuring, demergers, acquisitions, conversions into LLPs cost reductions, set up of shared service center, GST implementation, and several transformations and automations. His EY journey started with the EY-Andersen merger, where he was a vital member of the team working on the same.
Sources said his venture PV Advisory will focus on finance transformation, process automation, fintech, and CFO services. With operations in NCR, Mumbai, and Bangalore, they will partner with PAN India and overseas clients, aiding them in their journey to change the trajectory of their business and elevating it.
“Having spent so many years in Finance, I am clear that the coming years belong to technology. This Digital bus will take you places in Finance, be on it or regret it!,” he said. Kapil feels that a massive chunk of corporates is struggling to get on to this bus or are still very far, and his exposure in the Finance field of a corporate like EY, coupled with his tech experience, can become a boon for such organizations.
