The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday barred the Bengal Criminal Investigation Department from investigating the multi-crore coal smuggling case saying once the Central Bureau of Investigating the case the State agency had no business to intervene in the matter.
The Court of Justice Rajshekhar Mantha said that as the case was already being investigated by the CBI there was no need for the CID to intervene. The Judge also directed the Bengal agency to share its information with the CBI.
