‘Let Rajiv Gandhi be your role model’

The Rajiv Gandhi Students Forum (RGSF) and the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle jointly observed former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s 31st Death Anniversary, a State level Rajiv Gandhi Prativa Puraskar event and a Special Lecturer on theme “Contribution of Rajiv Gandhi to
Indian Democracy and Nation Building” here.

The programme was organised under the leadership of RGSF State
president Satyabrata Nayak. AICC national spokesperson Pawan Khera
joined as chief speaker. He told that Rajiv was always working for
eradication of poverty from the country. He had a pioneering role in
the development of information technology (IT) in India. Besides, he
reduced the age from 21 years to 18 years for voting rights of the
citizens. He will be remembered in history for his initiative for
decentralisation of power, told Khera.

The chief guest of the function Rajastan Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Dangi
in his address told that Rajiv sacrificed his life for unit, integrity
and dignity of the country.

Earlier, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik inaugurated the programme and
told that Rajiv believed in peace, nonviolence and truth and called
upon the youth to follow the cardinal principles of life.

AICC secretary and Odisha in-charge G Rudra Raju, Jatani MLA Suresh
Routray, Paryabekshayak Editor Dr Pabitra Mohan Samantaray and Amitav Chakrabati among others spoke.

Satyabrata Nayak presided while general secretary Padmakar Guru
delivered the welcome address. On the occasion, 85 talented students
in various faculties were felicitated with Rajiv Gandhi Prativa
Puraskar-2022.
