Ranchi Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Chhavi Ranjan has issued directions to check prevention of illegal mining/storage/transportation in mission mode. The DC has issued necessary directions to District Transport Officer, District Mining Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar and Bundu, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bundu, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bero, Khalari and Silli in this regard.
The District Transport Officer has been asked by the Deputy Commissioner to ensure action in mission mode for the prevention of transportation of vehicles without number plates, unclear numbers, and unreadable numbers transporting mines.
The DC issued the directions after there was a report that transportation of coal and other minerals from big trucks is going on unabated during nights on Ranchi-Daltonganj main road and also on the roads of capital Ranchi. These trucks carry stone chips, sand, bricks etc.
The Ranchi DC has directed officials to constitute special teams to check on illegal transportation of mines on national highways and other roads in the State Capital. The DC in its directive has asked to set up check posts, conduct surprise inspections, raids and seize vehicles and plants used in illegal mining and take action as per rules.
The DC has also directed for strict action against illegal mining as per requirement. In order to take necessary action against illegal crusher operators under the Ormanjhi area, Sub-Divisional Officer Sadar, Assistant Mining Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Silli, Circle Officer Ormanjhi and SHO Ormanjhi were instructed to form a team and take necessary action. Action was directed through a letter dated 13 January 2022 and the report has been asked to be submitted.
Deputy Commissioner Ranjan has once again sent a reminder letter to all the concerned officials to report the action taken against illegal mining and crusher operation.
