A hapless mother of a grievously ailing girl child has demanded action against a couple who had taken her daughter to Delhi and left her in distress.
She has lodged complaints with the district Collector, SP, CWC and others concerned seeking action against them.
According to reports, the 13-year-old daughter of Sabitri Singh, a resident of Jambeswarpur village under Sadar police station, is detected with bone cancer and Sabitri has blamed that the couple who took her to Delhi didn’t take care of her daughter which led to cancer in her daughter.
She alleged that after a lot of persuasion by the couple she had agreed to leave her daughter with them when they assured her that she would be admitted in a school there in Delhi to continue her education and accordingly they took all her previous education certificates. However , she was engaged only in domestic works, without giving her any education.
Last year during Diwali the couple along with their family went to a hill station and her daughter too accompanied them. And there she fell down on a rock surface injuring her bones. Yet she was not treated and left in Baleswar in ailing condition. Her condition deteriorated day by day, alleged Sabitri.
Finding no improvement despite treatment in Baleswar she was taken to different hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and examined. She was detected with bone cancer on that injured leg. She alleged that due to negligence in the treatment her wound turned cancerous.
The district administration is facilitating her treatment and extending some financial help from the Red Cross yet it is too meager, sources said.
