Monday, 21 November 2022 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday asked  officials to reserve land for a second runway to increase the number of flights at the Raipur airport.

He was holding a review of the Urban Administration and Development Department, Town and Country Investment Department, Housing and Environment as well as Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) here, an official communication said.

He said an additional runway will help increase the number of flights. Efforts should be made to get Central permission. He asked the officials to begin the process for developing an Aerocity near the Raipur airport.

He asked the Town and Country Planning Department to speed up the work of regularization of illegal constructions. Law has been made to benefit the public. Therefore, wide         publicity should be given to create awareness regarding relaxation of laws.

Camps for regularization of illegal construction can be organized at ward level and village level to            further speed up the process, he added.

Calling for strict action against illegal colonizers, he asked officials to register a first information report (FIR). The Town and Country Planning Department needs to              complete the work of approval of the layout and road structure of the colony within a time limit.

Baghel called for                expediting work on Seva Gram in Naya Raipur.

Releasing Rs 147 crore to the urban bodies for road repair, the Chief Minister said the Collectors will have the right to choose the agency for this.

He asked the Collector and corporation Commissioner to personally inspect work on roads. The road repairs should be undertaken on priority.
