BJP leaders have made illegal constructions: AAP leader

Friday, 20 May 2022 | Staff Reporter | NEW DELHI

Hitting out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the demolition drive by civic bodies in the national Capital, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday claimed that several BJP leaders have made encroachments and unauthorised constructions across the city. The AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Ramesh Bidhuri, Bipin Bihari, Raja Iqbal Singh, Mukesh Suryan, Anil Jain, Meenakshi Lekhi, Maninder Singh Sirsa along with countless other BJP leaders have made encroachments and unauthorised constructions all over Delhi.

“BJP's Central Government must answer why it is harassing the common man of Delhi for no reason today,” he said.

While showing a list, at a press conference here in the city, Bhardwaj said that this is the first list of BJP leaders and the details of their unauthorised residential buildings, along with photographs.

“Other lists which we have received from local Delhiites will be shared in future, and we urge everyone to continue sending us proof of BJP’s shameless hypocrisy,” said Bhardwaj.“Former North MCD mayor Priti Aggarwal has occupied a vast expanse of government land outside her flat to illegally build a private garden and a ramp. Ramesh Bidhuri has built his office at the Andheriya Mor at the Chhatarpur red light without getting any building plan approved in the MCD,” alleged Bhardwaj.

“The list has exposed 16 senior BJP leaders along with their positions, addresses, and photographic proof of their illegal encroachment.

The AAP demands to know when these unauthorised properties of BJP leaders and councillors will be bulldozed, or are these bulldozers only meant to uproot the lives of poor and middle class people? Action must be taken against all these unauthorised constructions and extensions made by BJP leaders at the earliest,” said Bhardwaj.
