Changed weather conditions have provided relief from extreme harsh weather prevailing for the past few days as temperatures have cooled off from highs of the season across the state.

The day temperatures which soared to 48 degree celsius have corrected by 3-4 degree celsius in the state. The highest day temperature was recorded at 45 degree celsius which was recorded in Nowgong and Sidhi.

Bhopal recorded the day at 42.7 degree celsius which remained at lower levels due to cloud cover.

The active system over Bay of Bengal has provided relief from the scorching heat in the state as over after a week, mercury in the state has cooled off from 45 degree celsius.

The Met said on Monday, the temperature dropped by 3 to 4 degrees which provided relief. The pre-monsoon could enter through Jabalpur in the state . There is a possibility of light rain with strong winds in Rewa and Shahdol districts along with Jabalpur from Wednesday and likely to remain for 72 hours.

Due to the formation of the system in the Bay of Bengal, a trough has formed from North-East Madhya Pradesh to Tamil Nadu. Due to this, light rain is expected in the eastern areas of Madhya Pradesh. In the next 24 hours, light rain may occur at isolated places in Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol.

The Met said that the chances of a heat wave are less likely and would be observed at very few places. The South West Monsoon has reached parts of the South Way of Bengal. It covered  Andaman and Nicobar till Tuesday and with this, the effect of the heat wave in Central India has started to end.
