Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday visited Chandi Mata temple on the second day of Ashwin Navratra and sought blessings. After this, he performed yajna in the premises of Chandi Mata temple and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. On this occasion, Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gian Chand Gupta presented a picture of Mata Chandi Devi to the Chief Minister.
Patwari held for taking Rs 37,000 bribe
Chandigarh: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday caught a Patwari posted in Jhajjar district red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.37,000. Bureau spokesperson said that the arrested accused has been identified as Ajay. Complainant, a resident of the Jhajjar district, approached Ajay, a Halka Patwari, to separate the Khevat of his ancestral land. On this, the accused Patwari demanded a total of Rs 42,000 at the rate of Rs 6000 per khevat. The complainant also gave Rs 5,000 advance in compulsion. The complainant who did not wish to pay bribe approached the Vigilance Bureau and lodged a complaint against the accused employee following which a team conducted a raid in the presence of the duty magistrate and nabbed the accused official red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 37,000.
