Internet services restored in Lohardaga

The services was suspended after the stone pelting incident on Ramnavmi

Internet service has been restored after five days in Lohardaga.To check the spread of rumors, the Lohardaga district administration had suspended the internet service after the incident of stone pelting on the procession of Ramnavami atHirahi village of Sadar police station area of Lohardaga.

  Lohardaga SP R Rajkumar said that internet services in district has been restored. He said that the police force would be deployed in the sensitive areas of the district so that no untoward incident takes place.

Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Arvind Kumar Lal said that internet services was suspended in Lohardaga town and Section 144 has been imposed in the entire district since last five days.

On the day of Ramnavami in Lohardaga, on April 10, a clash erupted bewteen two groups during Ramnavmi procession followed by which there was tension in the area. 

The intelligence department had already issued an alert in Lohardaga district regarding Ramnavami festival. During this, 10 motorcycles and a van were set on fire. The district authorities and the police had to struggle to control the situation.

The police was informed about the sensitive areas to be on alert. Apprehension was expressed that an incident like violence could happen in the area. A close watch should be kept in sensitive areas. In the preliminary investigation of the police, it has come to light that the incident was carried out by the sleeper cell of the terrorists.

However, SP R Rajkumar said that the whole matter is being investigated. Nothing can be said clearly yet. Whatever facts will come to light after investigation, further action will be taken accordingly.

The situation remains tense in villages like Hirahi, Kujra, Bhokta Garden etc. However, the situation remains normal in the Lohardaga urban area so far. Various leaders from different political parties visited till now. Former Chief Minister and BJP Leader, Raghubar Das, the State Finance Minister and Lohardaga Congress MLA, Rameshwar Oraon also visited Lohardaga.
