Campaigning through social media for a Sarpanch and Member Panchayat Samiti candidate of Mahishasura GP under Rajnagar cost an Assistant Teacher dear.
He was placed under suspension by the BEO for deliberate disobedience of higher authority and dereliction in duty related to violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
Rabindra Kumar Sethy, Assistant Teacher of Sailendranagar Primary School, recently posted an election symbol of Mahishasura GP's BJP-supported Sarpanch candidate Sridhar Prasad Pradhan and PS candidate Jyotsnamayee Rout in his social media account and campaigned for them.
The matter was brought to the notice of district Collector, DEO of Kendrapada and BEO of Rajnagar by the Rajnagar Surakhya Manch.
An inquiry was sought by the BEO and Sethy was found guilty. Sethy's headquarters is fixed at Talachua Nodal UP School during suspension.
Besides, the BDO-cum-Election Officer of Mahakalapada served a show-cause notice to Bichitra Kumar Parida, Principal of Rahama-based Thakur Nigamananda Degree College for involving himself in the poll campaign of a candidate of Gogua GP.
