A landlord is alleged to have kidnapped his tenant’s daughter and gone absconding for the last 20 days. The parents of the victim have approached police for help.
The matter came to light after the girl’s parents approached the DCP on Sunday requesting the police to trace their missing daughter.
The complainants held their landlord responsible for the disappearance of their daughter.
Acting on a complaint filed by the victim’s parents, police registered a case and raided the house of their landlord with the help of Childline officials. However, the landlord’s house was found locked.
Notably, the victim had been residing at the rented house with her father from 2018. Police have launched a hunt for the landlord to trace the missing girl.
The victim’s father Santosh Pradhan said hislandlord has no children. That’s why he used to take his daughter with him and keep her with him whenever he used to go outside. But he could not gauge his real intentions.
