Poet Dilip Das’ birth anniversary was held at Utkal Ashram, here on Thursday. On the occasion, a compilation of his writings published by Prof Dr Bidyut Prabha Sahu was released.
Organised by Dakshina Odisha Sahitya Sammilani, the event was presided over by its president Prasant Misra and coordinated by general secretary Dandapani Mohapatra.
Among others, former Deputy Speaker of OLA Rama Chandra Panda, Vice-Chancellor of Khalikote University Prof Prafulla Mohanty, former VC Prof Manmath Padhi, Prof Rama Raman Padhi, Dr Bhagaban Gouda, Dr GC Rout and Prof Banamali Panigrahy spoke.
Odisha Sahitya Akademi president Dr Hrushikesh Malik was felicitated with 1st Dilip Das Memorial Samman.
Malik in response to RC Panda’s request announced that the effort of Dr RP Padhy Sharma to translate Odia Bhagavat to Hindi would be complemented by the Sahitya Akademi by taking the responsibility of printing and publishing the book.
