Two siblings were drowned in a village pond in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district while bathing on Monday.
The incident took place in Mahka village. The victims were identified as Shyam Sharma (12) and his brother Sagar (10), Raigarh Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Lakhan Pawar Patle said.
As they did not know how to swim, the boys slipped into the deep water while bathing, he added.
After being alerted, the family members rushed them to a nearby civil hospital in Kharsia town where the doctors declared them brought dead, the officer said.
