UP all geared up for Yoga Day celebrations

Uttar Pradesh is all geared up for the 8th International Yoga Day on Tuesday as the mega event will be celebrated at 75,000 places to commemorate the Amrit Mahotsav year of independence with 40 ministers leading the celebrations in districts.

Special programmes will be organised on Yoga Day across the country at 75 places of historical and cultural importance, six of them being in UP.

“The state government has made special preparations for mass yoga practice at places like Kashi, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Naimish Dham, Chitrakoot, and Bithoor. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has set a target of connecting 3.50 crore people to the Yoga Day event this year,” a government spokesman said here on Monday.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend the Yoga Day programme at Raj Bhawan in Lucknow.

Along with the ministers of the state government, many officials will also participate in the programmes on International Yoga Day. Anil Rajbhar will participate in the event in Ambedkarnagar, Dinesh Pratap Singh in Barabanki, Vijay Laxmi Gautam in Sultanpur, Brajesh Pathak in Prayagraj, Yogendra Upadhyay in Meerut, Dinesh Khatik in Bulandshahr, Jitin Prasada in Ghaziabad, Dharamveer Prajapati in Hapur, Ajit Singh in Hardoi, Sanjeev Gaur in Deoria, Ashish Patel in Basti, Nitin Agarwal in Siddharthnagar, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary in Bareilly, Jaswant Saini in Budaun, Narendra Kashyap in Pilibhit, Jaiveer Singh in Varanasi, Sanjay Nishad in Chandauli, Suresh Rahi in Ghazipur and AK Sharma in Jaunpur .

At the same time, Gulab Devi will take part in the International Yoga Day celebration in Kanpur countryside, Sanjay Gangwar in Etawah, Satish Chandra Sharma in Farrukhabad, Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh in Kannauj, Pratibha Shukla in Auraiya, Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ in Jhansi, Ramkesh Prasad in Jalaun, Manohar Lal 'Mannu Kori' in Lalitpur, Arun Kumar Saxena in Mainpuri, Rakesh Rathor Guru in Mathura, KP Malik in Bahraich, Dharampal Singh in Moradabad, Anoop Pradhan Valmiki in Sambhal, Sandeep Singh in Amroha, Ravindra Jaiswal in Bhadohi, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary in Aligarh, Somendra Tomar in Hathras, Dayashankar Singh in Saharanpur, Baby Rani Maurya in Saharanpur, Rajni Tiwari in Shamli and Brijesh Singh in Chitrakoot.

The nodal officers will also participate in the Yoga Day celebrations in many districts.
