Thursday, 09 November 2023 | PNS | Lucknow

Not taking any lesson from continuous actions taken against policemen posted in Uttar Pradesh Police for making reels in uniform, another cop fell victim to the addiction of making reels and faced suspension.

The fresh case was reported from Kasganj where a female constable made a reel while wearing uniform. When the reel made by the constable went viral on social media, even the officers were surprised. After getting information about the case, the superintendent of police has suspended the female constable who made the reel.

Reports said that some residents of Kasganj complained to Kasganj police officers about the reel made by the cop in uniform and also sent the video. The video was uploaded on social media platform Facebook. To make the reel viral, the constable took seven rounds at Rajwada Chowk and made fun of traditions in the middle of the road. Several videos of the constable were also shared on X by the complainant. In this, the reel made on the song ‘Teri meri dosti, pyaar mein badal gayi...’ became the most viral. The complainant also disclosed that the name of the female constable was Aarti Solanki. The constable’s PAO number was also shared.

The issue reached higher officials. Kasganj police wrote on X, “In the case, the video was investigated by the social media cell… woman constable Aarti Solanki, posted at Sahawar police station of the district, made reels in uniform. Taking immediate cognisance of the said act, she was immediately placed under suspension and a departmental proceedings has also been instituted.”

It may be mentioned that the reel made by constable Priyanka Mishra in uniform also went viral on social media in 2021. Priyanka Mishra was shifted to reserve police lines. After that, when Priyanka’s popularity started increasing, she herself resigned from the police force. A few days ago, Priyanka Mishra realised that she had made a mistake and applied for a job again. She claimed that her financial condition was not good and she was facing difficulties in living. After the application, she fraudulently got a posting but when she was caught again, she was terminated and a clerk involved in the forgery was also suspended.

Meanwhile, a constable and home guard posted on PRV (Police Response Vehicle) were beaten up in village Kadarganj Pukhta of Sikandarpur Vaishya area in Kasganj district. The vehicle was also damaged.

The attackers were accusing the policemen of extortion, whereas the policeman said that they had reached there on information about the possibility of molestation of women during a sports event in the village.

Reports said that some people were staying in Kadarganj Pukhta area and were showing games and stunts. It looks like a fair. All this was going on and on Sunday, there was a huge crowd at the show.

Sources said that a PRV also reached there and started interrogating some people when the trouble started. Suddenly, the public pulled out a head constable, a constable and a home guard, accusing them of being involved in extortion, and brutally assaulted them and also damaged the PRV.  Head constable Shailendra Singh, however, said that on Dial 112, someone had expressed the possibility of molestation of women in a gathering organised in the village.

On receiving information about this, the cops reached the village when suddenly some people surrounded them and assaulted them. Constable Mukesh Kumar and home guard Awadhesh were also beaten up.

Singh lodged a report at Sikandpur Vaishya police station naming Hemsingh Jatav and other unknown persons. The incident is two days old, but came to light after a video went viral.

ASP Jitendra Dubey also issued his statement on behalf of the police regarding the incident on the WhatsApp media group of the police. The cops on Wednesday also arrested the prime accused.

A case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and action is being taken, ASP Jitendra Dubey informed media persons.
