The momentous approvals were granted during the 9th Academic Committee Meeting of AIIMS Bhopal held on Wednesday. The meeting, attended by distinguished members, including President AIIMS, Bhopal Dr. Sunil Malik, and Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS, Bhopal Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, marked a significant milestone in the institution's journey towards excellence.
In a momentous stride toward enhancing healthcare services and addressing critical and rare genetic disorders in Central India, the Academic Committee, has approved for the establishment of three pivotal departments: Critical Care Medicine, Medical Genetics, and Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology. These newly approved departments signify a pioneering leap for the state, positioning AIIMS Bhopal as a leader in healthcare advancements.
The establishment of these departments will usher in state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic amenities, catering to the pressing medical needs of the region. AIIMS Bhopal is set to become a healthcare trailblazer in Madhya Pradesh, with these departments being among the very few of their kind in the country.
The development marks a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to providing top-tier medical care to the people of the state.
The approvals extend beyond departmental establishments, encompassing an array of super specialization courses aimed at training healthcare professionals to address complex medical challenges. Some of the courses approved include:- MCh in Paediatric Surgery, MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, MCh in Joint Replacement & Reconstruction, MCh in Pediatrics Orthopaedics Surgery, DM in Paediatric Hematology-Oncology, DM in Pediatric Nephrology, DM in Endocrinology and Metabolism, MD in Emergency Medicine, MDS in Public Health Dentistry, MDS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
AIIMS Bhopal's commitment to excellence is further underscored by the approval of courses such as M.Sc. in Translational Medicine and Masters in Hospital Management. Notably, AIIMS Bhopal is poised to become the first institute in the country to launch a groundbreaking MSc course in Translational Medicine. This program aims to equip bachelor's degree students in medical technology and innovations, fostering improved healthcare through interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary integrated learning approaches.
During the meeting, President Dr Sunil Malik said that the opening of these departments in AIIMS Bhopal will bring revolutionary changes in the field of medicine, which will provide better treatment facilities to the people of the state. He also thanked the faculty members for these new efforts.
